See, I discovered that I work much better when I do not pressure myself. I get the best results when I am left with no time to over think things.
This week proved me that.
While waiting for a call from a call center company I applied for, Dev bugged me to pass resumes to other business establishments. Though unsure at first, I decided to stick with my "what the heck" motto.
So I said "what the heck", got myself dressed and handed out resumes to a couple of fast food chains inside a local mall. This certain fast food, named after some form of Earth insect, told me to return by 1 o'clock. Wondering why, I let the time pass by exploring the mall on my own.
I returned there minutes before the schedule, and found myself being seated next to a bunch of humans. That's when I realized I was up for an examination. "Completely unexpected," I noted.
I wasn't nervous. The only thing I had to think about was where to get a pen, since I forgot to bring one. (It was a surprise test for me, but who the heck hands out resumes without carrying a single pen?)
I looked around, and managed to use my angelic charm to borrow a pen from one other applicant.
The next day, I walked back to the mall, ready for my interview. Yes, I passed the exam, as it turned out. The manager invited me for an interview. To cut the long story short, I also passed that interview, and the next day, I was already wearing their uniform.
Quick, wasn't it? No time to worry, no time to think twice. Everything just came at me, and all I did was try to survive. And it was fun. I call this my Relaxed Mode.
I'm not yet an official employee, but the managers seem to have been impressed by my work so far. I guess being able to fly through crowds of people is an advantage for someone whose job is to give away meals on trays.
Heaven did not have this hectic process, but it sure is fun to serve.
I think I'll be enjoying my stay there. I've made several new friends, and I do believe this will be an interesting journey...a journey I will not bother to worry about.
White is such a peaceful color, isn't it? And the room now is so white. So peaceful... So relaxing. :)
