"A Horror Story!" by DEV

Never...again...

Lemme tell you a little story to improve your boring night (or day. yeah, you could be bored during the day too.) But beware! You might be too scared to sleep tonight...tonight...tonight (continuous echo...)

This is a story that involves horror. A horror story. Yep, it also includes frustration, 'cause I finished typing this about minutes ago and the computer didn't save anything at all. This is take two. Anyways...

Now Ark and I were heading home this afternoon, still looking cool even after the tiring school day (well at least I look cool. Ark never looks cool.) I was listening to my songs, as I always do when I'm flying home. It was getting dark, and Ark wanted to get home early. But you know, at home, Jen and Max are REALLY noisy, and you wouldn't appreciate much of your songs in there. So I wanted to savor the music a bit longer before I got back to the noisy reality..I mean, I'm noisy at home too. I'm like, the King of Noise.

Seeing a small curve in the road,I got this genius idea: I'LL TAKE THE LONG CUT!

But that long cut's through the cemetery. I could always get home by passing the gate on the other side of it. Plus, I'll get lots of time to do more sound tripping.

"Where are you going?" asked Ark as I pulled him towards the curved way.

"The cemetery dude! Let's use the other gate!", I said.

"What?! Are you crazy?? At this time in the afternoon? It's too dark now, Dev."

So he went on home using the boring, old, ordinary route. But I was far braver than my cowardly brother...for I faced the challenge before me like a noble warrior in his silver steed. Except I didn't have a steed. I mean, who uses steeds nowadays?? 'sides, I could totally fly.

I entered the rocky cemetery, enjoying the music. You know, I've passed this cemetery billions of times before, and I've always loved it's solemnity, whatever you call it. People get scared of cemeteries sometimes, but I wasn't one of those people. I. AM. BRAVE!

Except when it occurred to me that Ark was right, and it was getting really dark, and for the first time, I noticed...I was the only one there. NOT A SINGLE SOUL WAS IN THE CEMETERY WITH ME. I was completely...alone.

There may have been several other "souls" walking with me at that moment, but that's not exactly the kind of company I wanted. I got this feeling somebody was looking, following me...except when I look behind, there's no one there. Much like a social outcast on Twitter. That's the feeling. LOL.

Everything went super smooth anyway. The only scary thing that happened was when  saw that the gate I was so proud of--was locked! I got a mini-heart attack when I realized I would be spending the night there with Michael Jackson's backup dancers. Desperate, I looked around to beg for help. I didn't want to be trapped there for a night! And when I realized I had nowhere to go, and nobody was there to help me, I decided to fly over the gate. I have two wings, for Pete's sake.

So it wasn't much of a horror story. But Halloween's fast approaching, right? Let's celebrate! Let's get festive with blood, ghosts and creepy stories that don't make real sense. Hurray for Halloween!
