"Through the Storm" by ARK

Dev and I are back home! And if you were wondering why neither of us posted anything yesterday, I’m going to narrate to you the events that transpired.

Yesterday Morning:

Dev and I woke up VERY EARLY to prepare for our class. We had a subject at 7:30 in the morning, and so we began packing at 4:00 am. We left home at 5 and started heading to school. It was dark and rainy, and the roads were muddy. That didn’t bother us much, but our wings started to get wet. We saw lightning as thunder cracked. Soon enough, we were out of the watery nightmare and safely inside the classroom. As Dev and I were drying and wiping mud of ourselves, we heard the big bad news: OUR PROFESSOR WOULDN’T BE COMING! Yes, we went through all of that for nothing. Our next class was still in the afternoon, and we had to wait for several hours before we met our next professor.

Yesterday Mid-Morning Not-Yet-Afternoon:

Sitting inside the classroom while watching the rain pour, I tried to sleep. I couldn’t do it because school chairs aren’t exactly as comfortable as beds. I updated my Facebook status through my mobile phone, saying how much of a bore the day would be. Soon enough, Dev cheerfully announced that classes are suspended, and we were free to go home. After all, not even our professor would rush through the storm just to teach her students. She’s no hero.

Yesterday Almost-Afternoon:

The events were quick and we had to pick up the pace as Dev and I headed home. While flying, we decided to stay with our cousins just for the day. Their home was much closer to us at that moment, than our own. And with the terrible rain, it wasn’t wise to venture further. Dev and I soon reached our cousin’s house. We treated that place as a safe haven. There we ate lunch and slept.

Yesterday Afternoon to Yesterday Night:

We spent our time there, sort of helping out with the chores, watching our cousin play with his PS3, eating, sleeping and watching television. We slept at 9 and woke up again the next day.

Today:

We woke up early to prepare for our trip home. It was still raining, but it was much more peaceful now. The streets weren’t flooded anymore, and it was safe to travel. We said goodbye to our cousin and to our other grandma and headed home. Now here I am, typing this article, posting on my blog that has been left cold overnight.

That’s pretty much everything that happened during our absence. It wasn’t actually an absence, since we aren’t taking any attendance on this thing. I just wanted to inform you all that we’re safe and sound…and that we made it through the storm.
