"Hold On" by ARK
I met this 18 year-old British human online. We've been chatting for a couple of days, and she has never failed to amuse me.
Her name is Sara, and she's a medicine student.
Not only that, she's a model, a swimming trainer, a hiphop dancer and an ice dancer. Oh, and did I mention she plays soccer?
And we both love pizza.
But I think I know why she's very active on Twitter. Recently, she broke both her legs while trying to save a kid from a car. Now she's stuck in a hospital. She's been there for almost weeks, and she's finding comfort in all her online friends.
I don't know how many tears poured from her eyes when it happened. But trust me, you won't feel the loneliness in any of her tweets or messages.
She's happy that the kid survived. That's what made it all worth it.
I thought...if that happened to me, will I react the same way? Probably. I can stay positive like she can. But to think that most of the things she likes doing involve her legs... Can I handle a situation like that?
If I lost something that linked me to my every hope and dream, would I be able to hold on?
I guess life is unpredictable and anything can happen. So all we can really do is be prepared. I'm writing this so that someday, if anything wrong happens, I know I promised to stay strong. If my future isn't as bright as I'm gonna try to turn it to be, let this be a reminder not to give up.
Hold on. Just hold on.
Sara's really inspiring, and it was nice of her to share her story with me. I do my best to keep her company when I have the time.
Mental preparation for whatever bad thing happens? Check.

Wow. If I met Sara online, I'd believe everything she tells me, too! :D
